group classes

Group classes are a great option for building your relationship with your SideKick and they provide an opportunity to work on skills in a structured environment outside of your home!

CLASSES ARE HELD AT CENTRAL BARK WAUWATOSA (6228 State St, Ste G)

CANINE FOUNDATIONS

This class is intended for dogs older than 16 weeks (or 4 months at the start of class); it covers the foundation behaviors we look for and want to teach our dogs for a happy household, happy dog, and happy human! We cover basic dog manners cues like Sit, Down, Leave It, Drop It, leash walking skills, Recalls, and more! This class is designed for dogs with little or no previous training since it starts from scratch with most behaviors; however, if your dog already has some skills, it can be a great class to review the basics in a public and mildly distracting setting!

Note: Dogs must be okay on leash around other dogs and people (no growling, lunging, or excessive barking at other dogs or people).

Class Specifics:

  • Canine Foundations is a 6-week class, meeting every week at the same time for approximately 50 minutes. (Dogs attend all 6 weeks of class).

  • Class size is limited to 6 dogs per class.

  • Each dog is required to be up to date on vaccinations (Rabies, DHPP and Bordetella).

  • This is a positive reinforcement-based training class. Prong collars, choke chains, and other shock/e-collars are not permitted in this class.

  • Class fees are non-refundable once class has begun.

Class cost is $180.00

Next Start Dates:

Wednesday, March 15th, at 6:30 pm

Thursday, March 16th, at 6:30 pm

FOCUS & CONTROL

This is a great class for dogs 6 months and older who struggle to concentrate in distracting environments! It’s a class that utilizes strategies and exercises from the series of Control Unleashed books written by trainer Leslie McDevitt and the goal is to teach you and your dog how to relax, focus, and work with you! Class size is kept small to help each dog succeed and so that you and your dog can receive more individual attention!

Note: This class is NOT intended for dogs who have a bite history with other dogs or people. It is also a group class, so, if your dog generally needs a lot of space to be comfortable and keep their cool around other dogs and people, this class may not be for your dog.

Class Specifics:

  • Focus & Control is a 6 week class, meeting every week at the same time for approximately 60 minutes. (Dogs do NOT attend the first week of class)

  • Class size is limited to 4 dogs per class and each dog must be 6 months or older in age.

  • Each dog is required to be up-to-date on vaccinations (Rabies, DHPP and Bordetella).

  • This is a positive reinforcement-based training class. Prong collars, choke chains, and other shock/e-collars are not permitted in this class.

  • Class fees are non-refundable once class has begun.

Class cost is $270.00
