group classes

Group classes are a great option for building your relationship with your SideKick and they provide opportunity to work on skills in a structured environment outside of your home. Before registering, please be sure to review COVID policies and precautions that make group classes possible!

PUPPY KINDERGARTEN

This class is for puppies ages 8 to 16 weeks of age; it focuses on what is most important for a puppy of this age: socialization, enrichment, play with humans, appropriate puppy play, etc.! The goals of this class are to give your puppy the best head start to life possible, learn that new things are not scary and weird, and, really, figure out how to start navigating this huge, confusing, human world!

Class Specifics:

  • Puppy Kindergarten is a 6-week class, meeting every week at the same time for approximately 50 minutes. (Puppies attend all 6 weeks of class).

  • Class size is limited to 6 puppies per class.

  • Each dog is required to be up to date on vaccinations (DHPP and Bordetella, Rabies in some cases).

  • This is a positive reinforcement-based training class. Prong collars, choke chains, and other shock/e-collars are not permitted in this class.

  • Class fees are non-refundable once class has begun.

Class cost is $180.00

Next Start Date:

CANINE FOUNDATIONS

This class is intended for dogs older than 16 weeks (or 4 months); it covers the foundation behaviors we look for and want to teach our dogs for a happy household, happy dog, and happy human! We cover basic dog manners cues like Sit, Down, Leave It, Drop It, leash walking skills, Recalls, and more! This class is designed for dogs with little or no previous training since it starts from scratch with most behaviors; however, if your dog already has some skills, it can be a great class to review the basics in a public and mildly distracting setting!

Note: Dogs must be okay on leash around other dogs and people (no growling, lunging, or excessive barking at other dogs or people).

  • Canine Foundations is a 6-week class, meeting every week at the same time for approximately 50 minutes. (Dogs attend all 6 weeks of class).

FOCUS & CONTROL

This is a great class for dogs who would have difficulty concentrating in a traditional group class! It’s a class that utilizes strategies and exercises from the series of Control Unleashed books written by Leslie McDevitt and the goal is to teach you and your dog how to relax, focus, and work together as a team in distracting situations! Class size is kept small to help each dog succeed and so that you and your dog can receive more individual attention!

Note: This class is NOT intended for dogs that have a bite history with other dogs or people (dogs who have bitten with the intent to cause severe injury or death). It is also a group class, so, if your dog generally needs a lot of space to be comfortable and keep their cool around other dogs and people, this class may not be for your dog.

Class Specifics:

  • Focus & Control is a 6 week class, meeting every week at the same time for approximately 60 minutes. (Dogs do NOT attend the first week of class)

  • Class size is limited to 4 dogs per class and each dog must be 6 months or older in age.

  • Each dog is required to be up-to-date on vaccinations (Rabies, DHPP and Bordetella).

  • This is a positive reinforcement-based training class. Prong collars, choke chains, and other shock/e-collars are not permitted in this class.

  • Class fees are non-refundable once class has begun.

Class cost is $270.00
